Planned Maintenance: Firewall Transition – Saturday, December 20 at 6:00 a.m.

Scheduled for Dec 20, 06:00 - 07:00 EST

Scheduled

Tufts Technology Services (TTS) will transition to a new network firewall on Saturday, December 20, beginning at 6:00 a.m.

An outage of at least 30-minute is expected during the switch from the current firewall—now at end-of-life—to a newer, more secure system. During this window, access to Tufts-hosted services and applications may be temporarily unavailable.

What You Need to Know:
• Tufts-hosted applications (i.e., such as PeopleSoft, Axium, Data Warehouse, Tableau, Salesforce, ServiceNow, SIS, StringSoft) running in our on-campus Data Center—may experience brief interruptions during the transition.
• Cloud-based applications (e.g., Canvas, Microsoft 365, Zoom, Box) will remain accessible. If you are on campus, you will still have access to the network and can continue using single sign-on (SSO) for these services.
• While we do not anticipate major issues following the upgrade, some services may require restarts or additional steps to resume normal operation. Our teams will be actively monitoring and responding to any service needs.

This upgrade is a key step in enhancing the security and performance of Tufts’ network infrastructure.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
